A number of issues have been raised with Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Pio Tikoduadua during his visit to Batinikama in Labasa.
Resident Deepak Singh raised that when the Water Authority of Fiji workers repair the pipes on the road they do not level the road after digging it.
Singh also asked for more buses as passengers are seen standing on the bus steps in the mornings.
He also said that some taxi drivers are parking illegally as there are only two taxi bases in the area. Singh says LTA are also not booking these drivers.
Pio Tikoduadua assured the residents that the government will look into these issues.
Meanwhile, 40 year old Mohammad Faiyaz thanked the Minister for coming to Baitinikama and listening to their problems.
Faiyaz said this is the first time a minister has come to their area to listen to their problems.
He also thanked the government for improving the roads in Vanua Levu.
