Vodafone Fiji Bati star winger Maika Sivo is reportedly close to departing the Parramatta Eels and signing with England’s Super League club Leeds Rhinos.
This is according to Bulldogs General Manager Phil Gould who says Sivo’s time at Parramatta is drawing to a close, with the winger set to reunite with former coach Brad Arthur in the Super League.
The 31-year-old is contracted with the Eels until 2027 but has been given permission to seek opportunities elsewhere.
If Sivo completes the move to Leeds, he will become the second NRL player to join Brad Arthur’s side in recent weeks.
The Momi Village man has played 115 games for the Eels since debuting in 2019 and has scored 104 tries, 17 of which came in 12 appearances this season.
Sivo started for the Bati in last week’s loss to the PNG Kumuls in round 1 of the Pacific Rugby League Bowl Championship and is likely to make an appearance again this week when the Bati takes on the Cook Islands in round 2.
The Bati will play the Cook Islands at 8.10pm this Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
