Pacific sprint king Banuve Tabakaucoro has failed to meet the Olympic qualifying time of 10.05 seconds despite finishing first in the National Easter Championship 100 metres open final at the ANZ Stadium.
Banuve who was representing the Laucala club ran a time of 10.79 seconds.
Aaron Powell of Gospel Saints settled for second place with a time of 11.15 seconds while Suva Grammar School sprinter Tevita Sokiveta finished third with a time of 11.22 seconds.
Sokiveta is part of the Veiuto club.
He is one of the favourites to win the Senior Boys 100 metres in the Coca-Cola Games this month.
The Easter National Championship has been sanctioned by World Athletics as an Olympic Games Qualification Event.
