The Fiji Rugby Union says the rugby ball was in play for an average of only 20 minutes per game in the last five rounds of the Skipper Cup Competition.
Ball in play time is the amount of time the ball is in the possession of any of the players or is in a position where either team can contest the ball.
The ball in play time for competitive international level matches is around 35 to 40 minutes.
FRU CEO John O'Connor says they had a review of the last five rounds of the Skipper Cup competition.
O’Connor says Flying Fijians Coach Vern Cotter and his coaching panel were involved in that review.
He says in the last few days, they looked at all the data because the target is to lift the standard of competition.
O’Connor says there is a lot of data as a lot of players in the Skipper Cup competition are being tracked through GPS.
In the Skipper Cup Competition this week, Namosi will face Nadi at 3.30pm tomorrow at Prince Charles Park, Nadroga will host Yasawa at 3pm Saturday at Lawaqa Park, Lautoka will host Suva at Churchill Park at 3.30pm Saturday while Tailevu and Naitasiri face off at 3pm Saturday at Ratu Cakobau Park.
