Bala confident that people will choose good over evil this elections ahead of Diwali festival

Minister for Local Government and Infrastructure Parveen Bala says as Diwali will be celebrated just before the general elections, he is sure and confident that the people will be enlightened by the message of the festival and choose good over evil.

Bala made this comment while speaking to the students and parents of Narere Primary School during the school’s Diwali celebrations this morning.

Bala says schools have gone under major transformation and it has been done by the FijiFirst government where priority has been given to education.

He also highlighted about a number of initiatives that the students and parents are benefitting from like free education.

Bala also paid tribute to the Girimitiyas for keeping their culture and tradition intact.

The event was marked by traditional dance items by the students of the school and the lighting of the Diya.

Bala has also revealed that Girmit celebrations will be held in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa this weekend.
