Bail application ruling on pastor charged with rape to be done on the 29th of this month

High Court Judge, Justice Chamath Morais will deliver his ruling on the bail application in the case of a pastor who is charged with rape on the 29th of this month.

Ravinesh Chand is charged with 3 counts of rape and 1 count each of indecent and sexual assault of a 15 year old girl.

State lawyer Sheenal Swastika has objected to bail saying that there is a strong likelihood that the accused may interfere with the prosecution witnesses.

Defence lawyer, Jitendra Reddy told court that Chand would relocate to Labasa while on bail.

The alleged incidents took place on the 21st of March in Nausori.
