Police have classified the death of the 36-year-old taxi driver who was found motionless with visible injuries in Qalitu, Lautoka, on Saturday afternoon, as murder.
Investigators are gathering statements and CCTV footage of where the victim was reported to have been last seen.
Divisional Police Commander West, Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa says the gathering of statements and CCTV footage is being done in Ba and Lautoka.
No arrests have been made yet as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, Shally Chandra, the sister of victim, Donald Prasad, says the post mortem results also revealed severe injuries on the left-hand side and upper chest of her brother.
She says according to the police, it is alleged that her brother was stabbed in the head which caused a haemorrhage and left him motionless.
Chandra says his legs were also tied when the body was found.
Prasad was laid to rest today.
The victim who was from Varavu Ba, had informed his family that he was taking a passenger to Qalitu but failed to return, and his vehicle was found abandoned in Lautoka.
