Fijiana 7s hopeful Meresini Leivere could not hold back tears when a business in Homebush, New South Wales fundraised to help her get a Hilux after she fell victim to an online scam.
Since losing nearly $9000 in the car scam and spending her remaining savings on another car, Leivere had been working nearly every day to get the money back.

She was desperate to have the funds to return to Fiji to gain selection for the country's Olympic and World Cup rugby 7's team, a dream she had been working towards for years.
When Leivere contacted popular Australian program “A Current Affair” her mission was to warn others about a car scam that she'd fallen victim to but the 28-year-old rugby player never expected what followed.

A Current Affair was inundated with phone calls and emails from viewers wanting to help after her story went to air.
When Crash Clam drove the Hilux into Leivere's drive, it was clear just how much it meant to her.
