Australia is committed to providing Fiji with more COVID-19 vaccines.
This was the message by the Australian High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes while handing over the initial 10,000 AstraZeneca vaccines and other medical supplies to Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete.
Feakes says we are all in this together as New South Wales, Australia has also recorded community cases of COVID-19.
He further says he commends the response of the Fijian Government in battling the recent outbreak of the virus as Fiji has acted decisively and doing necessary things to keep Fiji and Fijians safe.
Very pleased to welcome an initial 10,000 first doses of Australian-manufactured #AstraZeneca with @Nadokoulu in Suva today after they landed in Fiji last night. These will assist in 🇫🇯’s vaccine roll out during this critical fight against #COVID19. #TeamFiji #Vuvale pic.twitter.com/9HWeeiyhkx

Doctor Waqainabete is urging every Fijian to follow the COVID guidelines in place which is proven to stop the spread of the virus.
Dr. Waqainabete says what they are asking people to do, is being asked in other countries as well.
