Lee‑Roy Atalifo has been called into the 31 member Fiji Airways Flying Fijians Rugby World Cup squad replacing Kalivati Tawake.
Tawake has been ruled out, due to a knee injury he suffered during the Pasifika Challenge test match against Tonga last Saturday.
Initial indications were the injury was minor and Tawake would be able to return to full training in a short time.
Tawake travelled to Suva on Tuesday for an MRI. The results have indicated that he has a Grade 2 MCL strain.
Fiji is pooled with Australia, Wales, Georgia, and Uruguay for the Rugby World Cup.
Fiji will take on Australia in their first game at 4.45pm on the 21st of this month.
