SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka

SODELPA Leader, Viliame Gavoka says as you celebrate Diwali, please remember your neighbours and fellow countrymen in your prayers who have suffered greatly from the impact of the pandemic, whether economically, mentally or worse, lost a loved one.

Gavoka says Diwali is a beautiful festival that is celebrated by all who call Fiji home.

He says this is a testament of the willingness of our people, cosmopolitan in our make-up, to put aside our differences to come together during this auspicious occasion regardless of origin, colour or religion.

The SODELPA Leader also says they are grateful that this year’s Diwali, families are able to gather to celebrate within their bubbles after months of lockdowns as the second wave of the pandemic wanes.

He says the country also owes gratitude to fellow citizens that diligently adhered to COVID-19 guidelines and getting themselves vaccinated.

Gavoka says we are not out of the woods yet but we are now able to celebrate as a family; dhanyavaad to you all.
