The Army rugby team preparing for the Sukuna Bowl competition visited the Saint Giles Hospital in Suva to encourage and wish patients a quick recovery.
Team Manager, Warrant Officer Class Two Nacani Mocelutu says they had initially planned for a cleanup campaign but this was taken up by the RFMF Engineers last week.
He says this year’s theme is ‘Rise Fiji Rise’ so the vision is that no one is left behind.
Medical Orderly Watisoni Nakabea who has been with the hospital for 20 years said that an increasing number of cases are related to the use of drugs.
He says apart from cases of depression, an increasing number of young people are being admitted through the use of marijuana and ice.
The Sukuna Bowl Rugby match between Police and the RFMF will be played next Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
The soccer match will be played on Wednesday at Albert Park.
