Army officer in custody for allegedly assaulting Police Officer at Narere Police Post

An army officer is in custody at the Nasinu Police Station for allegedly assaulting a Police Officer at the Narere Police Post last night.

Police say the  Police Officer was assisting a taxi driver who came to the Narere Police Post after midnight as his passenger who is an army officer was allegedly heavily intoxicated had refused to pay for his fare.

According to Police, the taxi driver left the scene after the issue was settled but as the Police Officer went back to the Police Post the suspect allegedly pushed him from behind and assaulted him.

The army officer was later arrested at his home.
