Army kick start Marist 7s campaign with a win

The Army Rugby 7s team kicked start their 47th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s campaign on a high as both of their teams won their first matches against worthy foes.

The Army Green side defeated Dominion Brothers 5-0 and the Army Reds team beat Police Blue 14-12.

Army Green will meet Wardens Gold while Army Red will take on Dominion Brothers at 1.45pm in their second matches.

Looking at some of the results, Bula Brothers defeated Vueticakau 10-0, Lavidi Brothers thrashed Plantation Island Rugby 33-0, DXC Barbarians beat Ratu Filise 22-14, Police White thumped Lami Cavaliers 33-14 and Marist drew 5-all with Wardens Gold.

The Youth quarter-finals will be held this afternoon.

Vunidawa Reds will face Waitabu at 4.35pm, Seekadah Babas will play Ravuka Sharks at 4.53pm, defending youth champion Dominion Brothers will take on Ralagi Youth at 5.09pm and Natabua Beez will face RKS Old Boys at 5.29pm.

The women’s quarter-finals will be held tomorrow.

In the women’s quarter-finals, Army Women will face Middle Women Steelers at 8am, Police Women will meet Striders at 8.17am, Seahawks 1 will take on Tagimoucia Ranadi at 8.34am and Seahawks 2 will play Fire Women at 8.51am.
