Hurricanes Captain Ardie Savea will miss the remainder of the Super Rugby Aotearoa season after suffering a knee injury in the Hurricanes golden point loss to the Crusaders on Sunday.
The All Blacks loose-forward will be sidelined for up to two months after tearing the ligament on the inside of his left knee just after halftime, however, he continued to play deep into the epic contest.
Savea is expected to return for international duties that are scheduled to start in early July, but he will miss the opening rounds of the joint trans-Tasman Super Rugby competition.
Savea joins several All Blacks players who are injured which includes captain Sam Cane, Joe Moody, Jack Goodhue and Patrick Tuipolotu.
The Highlanders will take on the Blues at 7.05pm Friday and the Crusaders will face the Chiefs at 7.05pm Saturday.
