People over the age of 18 years in the North who are unemployed can apply for the Government’s $100 unemployment assistance from 9am today.
The application will close on the 31st of this month at 5pm.
People can apply by providing their full name, birth registration number or citizenship number, date of birth, TIN, FNPF number, voter identification number, home address and a declaration to confirm they have received both jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says people whose income has not been affected as well as those who receive other forms of Government assistance are not eligible for this payment.
Sayed-Khaiyum says only one registered sim card is permitted per person and the sim card should be registered under the applicant’s name.
Payment for qualifying applicants will start from 6th June 2022.
The Attorney General has also revealed that all existing social welfare recipients will receive a one-off payment of $50 in the first week of June.
He says this additional $50 will be added to the normal monthly welfare payments and there is no application required for this top-up.
