Advocating on the importance on animal welfare and helping reduce the number of stray animals in our communities will be one of the main objectives of Miss Formscaff, Zeba Ali who is taking part in the 2018 Vodafone Hibiscus Festival.
The 23-year-old says animal welfare is something she holds close to her heart.
Ali who is a final year law student at USP says that there is also a concern on the growing number of stray dogs adding that the onus is on the pet owners to look after their animals especially dogs as they are growing in numbers and most of them end up wandering around the streets and rural areas.
She adds that more awareness campaigns need to be held around the country to ensure that pet owners know and understand the roles that they have to play in keeping their animals in a safe environment.
Meanwhile, the Kings public judging and talent show will be held at 7 tonight at the Valelevu Grounds.
The first award in the Queen contestants category, the Best Research Topic was won by Miss Fiji Suva City Council, Simran Nand.
