Josevata Koroi who is charged with murdering his wife in May this year has pleaded not guilty to the charge in the Suva High Court this morning.
The 33-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his wife to death in Naqara Village, Waima, Naitasiri on May 1st appeared before Judge Justice Salesi Temo.
He has been charged with one count of murder.
Koroi allegedly stabbed his 28-year-old wife, Adi Waidrau following a heated argument.
Koroi's lawyer Isireli Romanu also applied for bail.
DPP lawyer Yogesh Prasad told the court that they need time to file and serve a reply to the bail application.
Prasad also said that they need to check up on Koroi's children who are now living with their relatives since their mother's death and because their father is in remand.
Koroi has been further remanded in custody.
The case has been adjourned to the 17th of July.
