The Health Ministry has announced that all individuals aged 18 years and above are eligible to receive the COVID-19 booster dose by Moderna.

According to the Health Ministry, an individual can receive the COVID-19 booster dose, if he/she has received their initial two doses of the COVID-19 vaccines at least 5 months ago, that is, before 1st July 2021.

They are also encouraging all individuals aged 18 years and above who have underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and kidney disease to get the booster dose.

The Health Ministry says individuals who are not able to go to a vaccination site for the booster dose can contact the toll-free line 158 to register for home vaccination.

They are also anticipating to receive Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines in January 2022 which have been approved for use as booster doses for the adult population.

A public advisory will be circulated once the vaccine is received into the country and is ready for deployment.
