All evacuation centres in the North have been cleared - Rainima

By Naveel Krishant
Sunday 19/01/2020

All evacuation centres in the North have been cleared.

Schools which were used as evacuations centres are also ready for classes to resume tomorrow.

The Acting Commissioner Northern Uraia Rainima said most areas which faced water or electricity issues have been restored except for a few communities.

Rainima says officers from the respective authorities could not attend to the affected communities yesterday because of flooded waters.

He said teams dispatched are still carrying out their Initial Damage Assessment in targeted areas.
