All Fijians can make a difference, no matter how small it may seem as every action counts and shows the power of volunteering which is the power of everyone.
This has been highlighted by Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran while speaking during the International Volunteer Day at the Fiji Museum this morning.
local voluntary organisations and participants came out in numbers to highlight the importance of individual contributions to accomplishing the goals of the 2030 Agenda, stressing that volunteering is a means to cultivate a vibrant community spirit.
Kiran says if they can generate a passion for change across barriers, they can only imagine the “Power of Everyone{.
She adds Fiji’s Voluntary National Review this year highlighted the role volunteers played in Fiji’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters.
The Assistant Minister says this year, they are inviting everyone to take action and stress the urgent need for concerted, accelerated action by everyone to achieve the 2030 Agenda and look further at issues from climate change, hunger to health, rising poverty to endangered natural resources that require action.
