All Blacks coach Ian Foster says his team need to be smarter and calmer when "provoked" by the opposition.
Saturday night's clash against Australia produced two red cards, two yellow cards, and plenty of niggle as tempers threatened to boil over.
Foster says in the second half they weren't as disciplined as they needed to be.
He says they were being pushed in the areas, provoked and again that's a tactic that teams use against them.
The All Blacks face Argentina at 6.10pm Saturday in the Tri-Nations.
