Blues coach Sir John Kirwan has left All Blacks Keven Mealamu and Rene Ranger on the bench for their clash with the Sharks in Durban.
They arrived in South Africa late following last weekend’s Test win over France, however halfback Piri Weepu does get a start.
Lock Culum Retallick is suffering from illness and has been bracketed on the bench with Kane Barrett.
Captain Ali Williams is set to join an illustrious group of players featuring Keven Mealamu, John Afoa and Tony Woodcock who have played 100 games for the Blues.
The Blues take on the Sharks this Sunday at 1am.
Tonight at 7.35 the Chiefs meet the Hurricanes.
