All Blacks 7s veteran playmaker, Kurt Baker is hoping the All Blacks Sevens can rise to the occasion in Cape Town to defend the Melrose Cup this weekend.
Baker says New Zealand know the expectation is on them to return home from Cape Town with the Rugby World Cup Sevens title.
As the most successful team in Rugby World Cup Sevens history and winner of the last tournament, New Zealand are amongst the favourites to lift the World Cup on Monday.
New Zealand are the only team to have won Rugby World Cup Sevens three times which was in 2001, 2013 and 2018.
They will face either Jamaica or Scotland in the Round of 16 at 3.37am tomorrow.
