Fiji’s international airline Air Pacific has revealed the new brand mark that will be used to represent the carrier when it relaunches as ‘Fiji Airways’ in 2013.
The new logo will be on the three new A330s which arrive from next March.
The airline last used the Fiji Airways name in 1951.
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama while unveiling the new logo today highlighted that this logo will transform Fiji Airways’ planes into welcoming symbols of Fijian culture.
He said that the incorporation of the traditional Fijian art form, the “Masi” into the new logo is a wonderful choice and what better could symbolize the unique blend of the past, the future, the culture and traditions.
The Prime Minister said the unique Fijian logo will help the airline continue to stand out to whichever country Fiji Airways will fly to.
Designed by a local artist, the new Masi symbol features a series of specially designed motifs that carry individual meanings about the people of Fiji, their relationship with the stunning natural beauty of their islands and the country’s national airline.
Meanwhile, Air Pacific has announced a special sale for international and domestic flight fares originating out of Nadi and Suva to celebrate the launch of the new Fiji Airways brand mark.
Air Pacific’s CEO Dave Pflieger said the seven day ‘Back to the Future’ sale which starts from today until next Monday sees one-way and return fares slashed by 50% on selected routes across their network.
He said the travel period is from September 2012 to May 2013, with some blackout periods.
He said this sale is the company’s way of celebrating the launch of its new identity when it becomes Fiji Airways next year.
These fares include Nadi to Sydney, Nadi to Brisbane, Nadi to Auckland and Nadi to Hong Kong return.
