A Fiji born man who has made a name for himself in the fashion industry and is the Managing Director for Kookai Australia Rob Cromb has encouraged participants at “The Business of Fashion” workshop to aim for perfection.
Cromb shared his story during the workshop.
Cromb says he thought he would play rugby for the rest of his life and go fishing but just after his 21st birthday he told his grandmother in Fiji that he sensed he could build a big business in Australia.
He stated that fashion is the art of business and it took him long to understand the industry.
Cromb says when he started he had zero respect for fashion and actually thought could do it for five years and move on to do something else.
He highlighted that when he used to sell clothes in his store in Australia he noticed that there was a group of people that the market wasn’t looking after.
Cromb says he started concentrating on private school girls because they wanted sophisticated fashion at affordable prices and he designed his business to work the same way these girls worked and shopped.
Cromb stated that his stores worldwide has a brand new collection every week
