The film “Adrift” which had scenes shot in Fiji and features Shailene Woodley and Me Before you star, Sam Claflin premiered at Damodar Cinemas last night.
The movie that took close to eight weeks to film in Fiji was shot in parts of Suva, Pacific Harbour and Rakiraki.
90 percent of the film was also shot on the open ocean off Fiji
Film Fiji Chief Executive Officer, Dallas Foon says the development and experience this film brings to local crews helps them get more skills and move onto bigger productions.
Woodley and Claflin play romantic couple Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp, who sail together on a yacht from Tahiti to California and get caught in what would become one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in history.
It is based on Oldham's memoir Red Sky in Mourning: The True Story of a Woman's Courage and Survival at Sea.
