The Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu today opened the inaugural forum for Pacific Road Policing Leaders.
The forum is aimed at enhancing Pacific Island nation law enforcement put together strategic goals to collectively fight to eradicate and eliminate road fatalities.
The World Health Organization estimates that approximately 328,000 people are killed each year in the wider Western Pacific Region as a result of road accidents – and the heads of 18 Pacific island Nations will for the next 3 days discuss and formulate strategies to address road fatalities and accidents on our roads.
The Forum is being held at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi.
