A stern warning has been issued by the Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew that police will come down hard on drug peddlers who wish to make profits selling drugs during this festive season.
Chew says this is one of the trends during the festive period when people try to make money and thrive on drugs.
He says if people are caught, they will follow the normal process, take them to task and probably to court, and the court will decide what punishment is accorded to them.
When questioned on what is police doing in regards to drug peddlers targeting social gathering areas such as nightclubs to sell their products, the Acting Police Commissioner highlighted that they will not only utilise police in uniforms but also civilian officers who work under covert operations.
He says these people pass them the information, and the uniformed personnel come in and do the arrest.
