About 100 women artisans from Lau and Lomaiviti showcase their products today at the Suva Civic Centre Auditorium Front Car Park.
Acting Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Filimoni Vosarogo says 70 women will be selected from this women's expo to participate in the National Women's Expo.
He says the purpose of this expo is to provide a platform for women to sell, connect to sustainable markets and expose them to best practices by fellow artisans.
Koto Matemosi from Matemosi Masi Artisans from Namuka-i-Lau says she prints masi and other artwork.
Matemosi says she started off her business in 2015 with the help of her late mother and siblings.
Alisi Tokalau Drodro from Waitoga Women's Club in Nairai says her role in the club is to sell their telecards which is the source of income for the women's organization.
Drodro says this is her seventh time to attend the Women's Expo held in Suva and it motivated her to start off her small business by selling premix in the village to earn for her family.
Drodro encourages women to showcase their talents and market their products despite the challenges to improve the livelihoods of their families.
