Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at the seminar.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says there are some people in Fiji who want to politicize everything as they view everything from political perspective.

While speaking at the closing of the Legal Aid Commission Seminar in Natadola, Sayed-Khaiyum stressed that there have been a number of infrastructure developments in the last few years which should have been done ages ago.

He told the Legal Aid Commission lawyers that the government is fast tracking these developments and also making sure that they are also creating awareness on people's rights.

Sayed-Khaiyum then told the participants that many of the NGO’s have not moved along and were in the mode of always criticizing government about particular issues.

The Attorney General also told the lawyers of the Legal Aid Commission that they must treat everybody alike and ethnicity, religion and denomination should not matter to them.

He says equality and common citizenry is very important.

Sayed-Khaiyum told the lawyers that as we get closer to elections, more issues will be politicized, but they must stay above all politics.
