Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad

It was a fiery debate between the government and the opposition this afternoon as Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said that members of the opposition are undermining the Fijian economy which will affect the people of this country, however National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad says it is clear the government is struggling with its finances as it reduced its expenditure by one billion dollars in the current financial year.

Sayed-Khaiyum says since last year, there has been continuous assault starting right from Leader of Opposition, Sitiveni Rabuka on trying to undermine the confidence in the economy.

However, Professor Biman Prasad says the government needs to stop blaming the Opposition and tell the people the truth.

He says even people in government are telling them that the government is running out of money.
