Airports Fiji Ltd is still looking for a suitable location in Seaqaqa for a new airport development.
AFL's Communications and Public Relations Officer Christopher Chand says Seaqaqa would be an ideal location as it is Central to both Labasa and Savusavu.
Chand says they are working closely with Fiji Airways and Fiji Link for this project and a group is in Vanua Levu for further aerial surveys.
He says they are considering factors such as clear length for runway development, the height above the sea level, and proximity to mountains and other obstacles of the flight approach path.
The government has allocated $200,000 in the 2016‑2017 budget to carry out these preliminary studies.
