There was a heated argument between the Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Opposition Members of Parliament today when the Minister spoke about volunteers for the Asian Development Bank.
While Sayed-Khaiyum was delivering his ministerial statement on the 52nd Asian Development Bank Annual Meeting, there was a mention of the word slavery from the Opposition.
This is what transpired between the Opposition and the Minister for Economy.
Sayed‑Khaiyum has also cleared the air saying that these volunteers have been paid.
