The joint parliamentary assembly of the African, Caribbean and Pacific group and the European Union has agreed to send a fact finding mission to Fiji as part of its continued political engagement.
The decision was reached at the 20th Session of the ACP EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly in the Democratic Republic of Congo last week.
The Solomon Star reports that the Solomon Islands representative at the meeting, Milner Tozaka, described the mission as an important and positive engagement with Fiji.
Tozaka said the mission will give ACP and EU MPs the opportunity to get first hand information from the Fiji authorities and such engagement is positive development.
