A person is in custody after violent brawl at Mead Road Housing in Nabua

Police confirm more officers from the Police Special Response Unit are on the ground and also managed to control the situation last night when some youths from Sukunaivalu Road approached Mead Road Housing.

A person is in custody following a violent brawl at Mead Road Housing in Nabua yesterday afternoon.

Police confirm more officers from the Police Special Response Unit are on the ground and also managed to control the situation last night when some youths from Sukunaivalu Road approached Mead Road Housing.

Two people remain admitted at the CWM Hospital following the violent brawl after midday yesterday.

They sustained serious injuries after being allegedly hit by cane knives.

A group of people showed up yesterday afternoon and allegedly started assaulting some of the boys at Mead Road Housing.

They were allegedly armed with cane knives, steel rods and pieces of timber.

Many of the boys at Mead Road Housing had to run to the Police Mobile Command Post stationed in the area for their safety.

Some of the vehicles parked near the scene of the crime had their windows smashed.

Police are still trying to determine what caused the incident.

Residents who wished to remain anonymous have told us that there was an altercation between some boys from Sukunaivalu and Mead Road Housing yesterday.
