A Facebook live series which will look into how our ancestors fought injustices will start next month as a build up to the Indigenous Day in August.
FRIEND Fiji Founder and CEO Sashi Kiran says this ‘Indigenous Series’ comes after the Facebook live segment of the ‘Girmit Series’ came to an end yesterday.
Kiran says this series will look at how our ancestors lived as there are a lot of lessons to learn from them.
She also says that they have had many takeaways from what academics have been sharing on the research about the Girmitiyas.
Kiran adds one very important thing that she noted was that women played a very important role at that time which has led to where they are today.
