The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has finished in 9th place at the Dubai 7s after beating Canada 40-17.
Fiji got two more yellow cards in this game.
This means Fiji received 6 yellow cards in four games at the Dubai 7s.
Poor discipline has been a major challenge for the team throughout the tournament and was one of the reasons Fiji failed to reach to the Cup quarterfinals of the Dubai 7s for the first time.
Meli Derenalagi scored the only try of the first half for Fiji against Canada as they led 7-5 at the break.
Two tries from Waisea Nacuqu and a try each from Napolioni Bolaca, Terio Tamani and Aminiasi Tuimaba in the second half secured the win.
Fiji played most of the first half with six men as Derenalagi and Josua Vakurunabili were both shown yellow cards.
