The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has commended Fijian traders after nationwide inspections showed that a large number were in compliance with the FCCC ACT.

As of 17 June, a total of 5,908 inspections were conducted by FCCC teams nationwide with almost 95 per cent of traders compliant.

FCCC CEO, Joel Abraham says the high compliance rate is encouraging to see and a testament to their outreach, both physically on the ground and digitally using technology.

Abraham has acknowledged traders who are operating their businesses ethically, especially in trying times like this where Fijians are finding it hard to put food on the table due to loss of jobs as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to crash the global economy.

He says FCCC will continue to conduct inspections and monitor the market to protect Fijians during these trying times.
