Nine selectors have qualified to be on the selection committee for the Digicel Fiji 7s team
According to the Fiji Rugby Union's National Coaching Director Franck Boivert, the nine are Sailosi Naiteqe, Alifereti Doviverata, Manasa Bari, Jope Tuikabe, Aisea Tuilevu, Head Coach Alifereti Dere, Timoci Wainiqolo, Red Rock Coach Lote Rasiga and Kali Kalisito.
Their qualifications include holding IRB Level 2 students who have been taught the selection process which is selecting the players according to the team and player's profile.
Boivert said that everyone has to understand the national team belongs to the people of Fiji and the FRU's job is to make sure there are qualified people to select the team.
The selection committee will be required to attend every 7s selection process at the FRU.
After recent defeats in the second leg of the IRB World Sevens Series in South Africa, Boivert added they will try out all players in the squad as they are looking for 22 potential players to prepare for the World Cup next year.
Meanwhile, the Digicel Fiji Sevens team is expected to march into camp next month.
