Nine officers who successfully completed their two weeks of Pre-Deployment training will be leaving our shores for South Sudan and  Darfur soon for peacekeeping duties.

Chief of Intelligence and Investigation, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Biu Matavou reminded the officers that they have been selected for a purpose and the need for them to serve to the best of their ability.

Matavou says their role as officers is to assist in resolving conflicts and they need to have an integrated approach which is an important aspect of the mandated UN Standards.

Out of the nine officers who completed their training, three officers will be deployed to South Sudan while six will be deployed to Dafur for peacekeeping duties.

From the nine officers, three are women.
