Minister for Education, Premila Kumar has revealed that about 88% of Year 12 and 13 students are back in school and they are working with their partners to determine where are the other students.
Kumar highlighted this while speaking to the students, teachers and the management of the Nasinu Muslim College.
She says it is exciting to see students back in school and teachers are teaching while other teachers are preparing for the reopening of other classes.
Kumar says Year 12 and 13 students have been the most affected by COVID-19 as they are at a crossroads.
She says some of these students have been concerned about this school year and if they will be able to get into a tertiary institution or not.
The Minister says now that students are back in school, they need to realise their dreams and this is the time for them to show their do or die spirit.
She says most teachers have completed their syllabus and these 9 weeks have been given for the students to revise and clarify any grey areas that they may have.
Kumar adds students can also speak to their trusted teachers if they are going through any issues.
The Minister also handed over more than 10 packs of face masks to the school.
