After a lapse of 18 years, the Fiji Secondary Schools National Men's U19 Cricket tournament kicked off today with four pool matches.
Eight schools are competing in the tournament, including three maritime schools, Ratu Finau Secondary School from Lakeba, Moce Secondary School, and Cicia Secondary School.
They are joined by the Western Zone champion, Ba Provincial Freebird Institute, Southern Zone's top seed John Wesley College, Nabua Secondary School and Suva Grammar School.
A Cricket Fiji U19 Invitational team is also participating, stepping in for Ratu Kadavulevu School which was unable to attend.
In the first round of results, Ratu Finau defeated Ba Provincial Freebird by 103 runs, the Cricket Fiji Invitational side beat Nabua Secondary by 7 wickets, John Wesley tied with Suva Grammar School, and Moce Secondary School won against Cicia Secondary School by 47 runs.
The tournament ends this Friday.
