To give the Fijian people access to the justice system, the 7th Legal Aid Commission Office was opened today in Nausori.
While opening the facility this morning Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama highlighted that these centres will provide ordinary people with easy and ready access to the best legal advice in selected areas.
He added all the services at the centre are free for those who qualify for legal assistance.
Bainimarama stresses these include some of the most vulnerable people who are low income earners, single parents, the elderly, and those with disabilities.
He added apart from family law and criminal matters, the Commission also drafts wills, takes out letters of administration, assists in probate matters and FNPF withdrawals.
The Legal Aid Commission was established in 1998 with its first office in Suva.
Another office will be opened tomorrow in Nasinu while one will be opened in Navua on Thursday.
The government plans to open 17 offices around the country by the end of this year or early next year.
Legal Aid Commission has been allocated $4.4 million in the 2015 National Budget.
