78 nurses graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from the Sangam College of Nursing and Health Care Education today after going through a bridging programme.
They join 284 nurses that also got degrees through the bridging programme.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Academic Board Chairman Amraiya Naidu told graduates to keep abreast with the new development in the Nursing profession.
Naidu also reminded the graduates to always smile as it will connect them with a person struggling to take the next breath to survive and communicate messages of hope to fight on to live.
556 nurses have graduated with degrees from Sangam College of Nursing in the last three years.
27-year-old registered nurse, Dipti Darshika Lata of Rakiraki Hospital received the Overall Academic Excellence Award in the Bachelor of Nursing Science (Post Registration) Programme along with Academic Excellence for Advanced Primary Health Care and Academic Excellence in Patient Safety.
Lata dedicated her achievement to her parents especially her mother who passed away in 2012.
