$7,490 was raised during the “Fiji 4 Australia Fire Concert” that was held at the Sukuna Park yesterday
Hundreds of people turned up to support this worthy cause.which was organised by the Fiji Performing Rights Association to raise funds for the victims affected by the bush fire in Australia.
Director FPRA, Seru Serevi says all the funds collected from the concert will be directed towards the Australian bush fire victims.
Serevi says Australia has always being the first country to provide aid for the country when we are being affected by any disaster, for instance, Cyclone Winston in 2016 where they provided relief supplies and other aid for the people of Fiji.
He says the event was also meant to be a day of fun and giving for the victims of the Australian bush fire.
Fourteen bands and a number of local artist rocked the stage at Sukuna Park as they entertain the hundreds who turned up for the one-day outdoor concert.
Serevi says all the funds collected from this will be given to the Australian High Commission where they will hand it to appropriate authorities for the bushfire victims.
Since September, 33 people have died in the Australian bushfire including 3 firefighters from US and more than 10 million hectares of land have been destroyed in the blazed.
