Seven tickets won a share of the eye-watering $50 million jackpot in New Zealand last night.

No single ticket had the correct Powerball and First Division Lotto numbers needed to win outright.

Each prize winner will bank $7,180,041 after the prize rolled down to Division 2.

The seven lucky ticket-holders had five correct Lotto numbers and a bonus ball along with the Powerball.

Lotto NZ chief executive Jason Delamore says this is going to be life-changing, and not only for the lucky winner themselves, as they know winning big has a huge ripple effect.

He says most of their big winners share their prize with others, including family, friends, communities, and charities.

Delamore says this means that the win makes a huge difference to more than just one person.
