7 people fined for smoking in public places in Labasa

Health Inspectors in the Northern Division have formally requested Police in the division to assist them in ensuring the No Smoking Rule in public places are adhered to.

Health Inspectors from Labasa have met with the Station Officer at the Labasa Police Station yesterday.

The Health Inspectors also carried out surveillance at the Labasa Market Area and the Bus Stand and fined 7 people for smoking in a public place.

The offenders were fined $200 each yesterday.
