Minister for Education, Premila Kumar says about 68% of Year 12 and 13 students were back in class on the first day of school last Monday.
She says they will be collecting further statistics on students attendance today.
Kumar says the students attendance was at 68% because some were boarding school students or are on other islands and Vanua Levu and had to travel to Suva.
She has also highlighted that she has heard from school heads and the management that the students in Year 12 and 13 have already completed their syllabus.
