64-year-old, Adi Ema Kakua of Naitutu village in Tailevu hopes that she has made the right decision to cast her vote at their village hall today as pre-polling continues in the highlands of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Lomaiviti and Lau.
Adi Ema who has voted in the previous elections said she wants a government that cares about the people.
Meanwhile, first time voter, 26-year-old Latileta Lewatu said she is lucky that she has exercised her right to cast her vote.
Naitutu village headman, Eroni Lala said he has asked election officials to assist senior citizens to cast their votes who cannot walk in his village.
Sixty five thousand, 875 voters are expected to cast their vote during the pre-polling period.
The pre-poll will run for two weeks at 547 polling stations.
There are 591 thousand 95 registered voters in the 2014 general elections.
The Supervisor of Elections said Police will guard the ballot boxes.
